Supplementary unemployment benefit (AGE) with Omstella is a supplement to unemployment benefits (a-kassan) that can be paid out to the employee who has been laid off due to redundancy or illness, or whose fixed-term employment has ended.
Conditions for Severance Pay (AGE)
You need to:
- have a monthly salary according to the table below.
- Have been made redundant due to lack of work or illness by an employer affiliated with Omstella.
- Be at least 40 years old no later than your last day of employment (final day with salary).
- Be seeking work to at least 20% and registered with Arbetsförmedlingen.
- Have been dismissed from a permanent position following union consultation, and
- have been employed for at least five consecutive years with the employer, or
- be able to combine periods of employment with previous employers affiliated with Omstella, TRR, TRS or Trygghetsrådet Fastigo.
- When combining employment periods, previous employment must have ended due to redundancy or illness. - Or Have completed a fixed-term contract or probationary employment, and

have been employed for at least 48 months during the past five years with one or more employers affiliated with TRR, TRS or Trygghetsrådet Fastigo, where

the most recent employer must be affiliated with Omstella.

*The limit for monthly salary for AGE calculation may change if the unemployment benefits raise or lower their daily allowance
** If your last employment day is before August 4, 2025, your salary needs to be more than 35,800 kr.
** If your last employment day is August 4, 2025, or later, your salary needs to be more than 34,310 kr.
*** If your last employment day is October 1, 2025, or later, your salary needs to be more than 44,300 kr.
Calculation
The total monthly salary (including any allowances such as commission or OB allowance) that the employer has reported to Omstella forms the basis for the AGE calculation.
For those who started their AGE before October 1, 2025, this calculation applies to find a daily compensation of AGE.

For those who start their AGE on October 1, 2025, or later, this calculation applies to find a daily compensation of AGE.
Day 1-100:
(Monthly Salary x 70% / 22 days) - 1236 SEK*
Day 101-130
(Monthly Salary x 70% / 22 days) - 1082 SEK*
Day 131-200
(Monthly Salary x 50% / 22 days) - 1082 SEK*
Day 201-390
(Monthly Salary x 50% / 22 days) - 1005 SEK*

Limitation in AGE Amount:
AGE is calculated on salary parts up to and including 1.4 x IBB/month (IBB = Income base amount)
The timing of the layoff determines which year's income base amount is used in calculating the maximum limit for AGE.

Payment
To receive payment of AGE, there is no requirement to be a member of an unemployment insurance fund, but AGE is calculated as if you are a member. However, you need to be registered as a job seeker with the Employment Service for at least 20%.
